David made his acting debut in a small role in the award winning short A Taxing Night (Best First Irish Short at Galway Film Fleadh 2005). In 2008, he began studying with Bull Alley Theatre Training Company, where he appeared in eight stage productions over two years and received an A.T.C.L. Diploma for Speech and Drama. David has also recently made his directorial debut with 'The Shadowboxer', a short film about the friendship and rivalry of two boxers. He picked up the 'Best Newcomer' award and two nominations (Best Screenplay & Best Independent Short) at the 2011 Underground Cinema Awards.
