Iona is a professional harpist/vocalist/guitarist based in Cardiff but currently performing all over the UK. Her love for performing began at a young age, and by the age of 11 had passed both grade 5 harp and piano. Throughout her teens she performed with various choirs and ensembles, one of her smaller ensembles being named one of the top ensembles in Wales at that time.
After teaching herself to play the guitar at 17, Iona began concentrating on her solo career and began singing and playing in various pubs and clubs, as well as a bit of busking in her spare time.
After graduating from Loughborough University in 2011 Iona has become a full time muscian and, off her own back, without an agency has been booked up for most weekends in 2012... with weekly bookings coming in for 2013. Her greatest acheivements probably include being the main performer for the National Student TV Awards, Scarlet FM Awards Evening, Bay Radio Awards Evening and more recently winning the National Competition 'The Next Big Thing' held in the famous Excel Arena in London. This has helped Iona to break into the corporate agency as well as doing the weddings.
Iona is a keen songwriter and performing with a vocal and instrumental foot pedal (as seen in a few of the youtube videos on her profile) gives and extra, and original edge to her performances.
Qualifications include Associated Boards Grades 5 theory, 3 on violin, 6 in singing and 7 on both Harp and Piano.
Iona is also a member of the Musicians Union.
