Talent of the Month — Victoria Lopez

Victoria Lopez is an experienced model based in Sydney, Australia. With six years’ modelling experience under her belt, Victoria has been involved in e-commerce work, editorials and showings, and is now ready to enter the world of acting!

How long have you been on StarNow, and what prompted you to join?
I joined years ago but have been an active user the past two years.

How has StarNow helped to shape your career?
I’ve been on StarNow for about six months now. One of my agents suggested I sign up in order to get a showreel together and launch my acting career!

What do you like about using StarNow over other platforms?
StarNow is constantly updated with an array of jobs and opportunities. From student projects to movie and television productions. It’s also super affordable. I made a profit in my first week alone on the site!

What was your first modelling job, and how did you land that position?
My first modelling job was at age 15 for The University of New South Wales (UNSW). My brother was working for the university marketing team as a graphic designer and they used me in their 'Future Students' campaign!

What’s the best moment of your career so far?
In terms of modelling, it was seeing myself in the window of some of my favourite shops including Rebel Sport and General Pants Co. For acting, it was starring in a Ziggy Alberts’ music video and being cast in a brand new television series!

When you're not busy modelling, what are some of your favourite things to do?
I have been studying a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) for the last three years – this occupies most of my time outside of modelling! So when I’m not studying or working, I enjoy playing my guitar or reading crime fiction.

What is your life motto?
Happy are those who dream dreams and are ready and willing to make them come true!

Do you have any advice for people looking to make the most of the site?
Having a lot of photos and videos on your profile is always beneficial. It shows casting professionals how you look and act in a variety of different styles. Checking the site every day for new opportunities is also a great idea, you never know what you’ll find.

What qualities would you say are most important to being successful in your field?
Being approachable, motivated and reliable!

You are currently signed with Vivien’s Model Management. What were you looking for or what should people be looking for, when trying to decide on an agency to join?
As soon as I walked into Vivien’s for the first time I was overwhelmed by how lovely all of the bookers were. It’s like a little family in there! I always say, open castings are the way to go. Find out when an agency is open for walk-ins and walk right in.

What’s your favourite part of being a model?
The people I have met along the way. I used to feel isolated, as I live in a relatively small community in the Blue Mountains. This industry has opened my eyes to so many different people!

One thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I love astronomy. I plan on returning to university and studying astrophysics. I am also completely obsessed with the Beatles and have them tattooed on my arm!

Why did you choose to pursue a career as a model?
I actually pursued a career in modelling so I could enter into the acting industry. It has given me a great insight into the creative industry and has indeed helped me start my acting career.

What three words best sum up your 2018?
Work. Change. Grow.
