Performing Arts Teacher (Dance)
You'll join a small yet vibrant team of enthusiastic and experienced dance teachers which consists of six teachers and two assistants teaching a range of classes from Creative Dance and Latin to Contemporary and Ballroom to over 300 students. The classes will focus on the progression and development of pupils between the ages of 18 months old to adult, ranging from beginner, open level, intermediate and advanced. Classes will take place at various times Monday - Saturday.
As a Dance Teacher for GLL, you'll deliver high-quality dance classes which are creative in content and enjoyable for students to take part in. It's not just about the practical sessions though as you'll need to plan and prepare lessons according to the required syllabus and assess and record development in examinations.
You'll be a key part of a team who share the same ethos and values of nurturing and developing creativity, where you'll have the opportunity to bring new ideas to the dance academy. You'll want to see the expansion of classes filled with happy students and parents plus finished pieces of choreography which are showcased 3 to 4 times a year at performance days.
You'll live and breathe dance and your passion will rub off on those you teach. You should have formal teaching qualifications with a recognised dance association or a degree in dance. You'll know how to give structure to your classes and keep your students engaged whether they're beginners or professionals preparing for auditions.
