Raised in a care home, Jesse James is a typical high school delinquent, with a chip on his shoulder, he loves chemistry and would be a star student in another world, instead he uses his gift to create and sell small bombs and other chemicals to his fellow students. Jesse is loyal to a fault, unwittingly funny and above all determined to escape the social care system.
