Multimedia Journalism Project Actor Wanted

Multimedia Journalism Project Actor Wanted

Bournemouth, UK. Apply from all UK.
Listed by View details

I am a third year multimedia journalism student at Bournemouth University and am currently doing my final year project.

The project will be on "non-offending paedophiles". Those are people who claim to be born paedophilic and seek help for it, actively want to change and refuse to act on their impulses. They claim that they need medical and mental help in order to prevent their possible offences. Many researchers in the subject have found out that most people with paedophilic inclinations find out about them as early as 14 years of age and end up acting on them as late as 40-50 years of age. The time in between can be used as an intervention in order to help these people and possibly eliminate any chance of them offending. This is what my project will concentrate on - prevention and education of the public on a very real issue that is only ever growing.

Due to the sensitive nature of my project, I am obligated to keep all of my interviewees (the people who identify as non-offending paedophiles) fully anonymous. This is why I need an actor, to interpret my interviewee and stage photos showing them in their day-to-day life. The pictures will be used in a print feature article and online article. They will be creative images staged to represent my interviewee without revealing their real identity.

There will be a concrete disclaimer before the project itself stating that the person in the photos (you) IS NOT the person in the story (the self described non-offending paedophile). This will be done so that there is NO CONFUSION between you and my subject of the story. You will only be used as a creative representative in the photoshoot.

Audition / Rehearsal / Production dates

I am happy to work anywhere between the time frame of 16.11.2019 to 28.11.2019.
The shoot would take not more than a day and rehearsal days are not needed.
I am happy to discuss which day in the time frame would be the most appropriate for me, you and the photographer.

Job payment

Unpaid – this is a collaboration opportunity - This project is unpaid as it is a student production.

Collaborations should create mutual benefit and are usually amateur, student or 'Time for Print' projects.

All advertisers agree to abide by the UK National Minimum Wage Act and are responsible for defining the nature of their production and any payment requirements. Find out more.

Main subject of story

No make up or costuming is necessary. This will be an entirely creative photoshoot, aiming to show the essence of an anonymous and problematic character. You will be representing somebody we don't know so it is entirely up to the team how this character will be created.
