Inspired by the vision of the late Bernie Grant MP and designed by Sir David Adjaye the Bernie Grant Arts Centre opened 10 years ago. The purpose-built complex includes a 274 seat and fully equipped auditorium, multi-purpose studio spaces, a boutique cinema, a clustering of 20 enterprise units, and an award-winning café and bar.
Working closely with and reporting to the Production and Technical Manager, the Technician (Casual) is responsible for helping to deliver high quality performances and events, operating technical elements for productions and maintaining equipment and the facilities.
The post of the Technician (Casual) will help deliver events from visiting companies, hirers, and in new works developed at the Bernie Grant Arts centre. They will also contribute to the efficient running of the production team.
The Technician (Casual) will need to have strong lighting skills, and confidence to operate sound, scenic and rigging equipment whilst providing a safe environment for all staff, audiences, cast and visiting companies. Experience in health and safety for theatre and events abiding to risk assessments and health and safety regulations
A strong individual, with vision and drive you will need to be a highly motivated, people-person with outstanding communication skills and a passion and commitment to celebrating cultural diversity in the arts.
